New Youth Minister

Hello families of Saint Rose!

My name is Catherine Wessel and I just signed on as the new Youth Minister for the Parish, to start in September. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas this past May with degrees in Catholic Studies and Neuroscience. After four years of growing deeply in the Catholic intellectual tradition of the Church, I’m excited to reintegrate back into parish life and to give my time and talent to Saint Rose. I grew up in Stillwater, MN going to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, which is where I began to make my faith my own. The Catholic Studies program at St. Thomas, as well as the many faith-based programs St. Thomas has to offer, is really what led my faith to become the most important reality of my life. Through the gift of the sacraments and prayer, we have the real opportunity to richly participate in the Divine Life, something I didn’t understand deeply until college, but now is the central motivator of my life. I’ve been working the last two summers with ministries catered toward the youth, (last summer at Camp Wojtyla in Colorado and this summer with Into the Deep in Minneapolis) and I couldn’t be more excited to continue in this field by getting to work with the 7th – 12th graders at Saint Rose. It will be a joy walking with them as they grow in community and friendship, grow in understanding of the Catholic Church, and discover the role their Faith will take in their lives. Junior High and High School are extremely important years of life, and inviting God into those years will only enhance life’s experience and growth – while bringing lots of fun-filled adventure as well!! You can expect to be hearing from me over the next few weeks about the available programs for the youth. If you have ideas or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out at my new office number 651-357-1215 or Your input is extremely important to me.

In Christ,
