Saint Rose of Lima Choir SATB ( Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) choir is open to men, women, and teens (grades 9+). The choir sings at weekend liturgies, rotating between the Saturday 4:30 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM, and Holy Days from September to May. The choir sings a variety of styles: classical, traditional, contemporary, gospel, etc. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the church.
Cantor This opportunity is open to experienced singers who can comfortably lead the congregation in song. Cantors are used at all liturgies, as soloists when the choir is not present and leading some of the music at liturgies with the Choir present. A brief audition is required for this ministry. Please contact the Director of Music to learn about how you can be involved in this ministry.
Funeral Schola This opportunity is open to anyone available to sing at funerals (usually held at 10 AM on weekdays). The Funeral Schola is a very flexible group; you can sing as often, or as little, as your schedule permits. Rehearsals are held on the second Monday of each month, September through May at 8:45 am and 30 minutes before funerals. This ensemble is currently on hold until the 2022-23 choir season.
Youth Choir The Youth Choir welcomes youth in grades 2 through 12. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings in the church from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The Youth Choir sings at the 4:30 PM and 9:00 AM Masses, once a month from September to May, and at the 4:30 pm Mass on Christmas Eve. This ensemble is currently on hold. Saint Rose Bell Choir For experienced musicians and/or experienced bell ringers. The bell choir plays at a variety of liturgies throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 PM in the church. This ensemble is currently on hold. Bell Choir Rehearsal Schedule 2019-2020
Instrumentalist If you have played an instrument for at least 5 years, we are interested in having you share your talents. You can play as often, or as little, as you desire. Any and all instruments welcome. Please contact the Director of Music to learn about how you can be involved.
Keyboard Open to experienced keyboard players who are interested in volunteering to play the electronic, digital keyboard at weekend liturgies along with our organist.
