Meals on Wheels
Spend an hour and a half every three weeks (Tuesday) as a volunteer driver for our Meals on Wheels Team. Saint Rose of Lima participates along with other congregations in delivering noon meals to area seniors and disabled adults. Seasonal, substitute, and standby drivers are needed to fulfill our parish’s commitment to this vital ministry.
Loaves and Fishes
Our parish provides a nutritious and satisfying meal on the third Thursday of each month at Saint Matthew’s parish dining hall in the west-side neighborhood of Saint Paul. Our sponsor, Loaves and Fishes, has served the Twin Cities for the past 25 years. Last year all the volunteer serving teams served well over 300,000 guests at eight dining sites.
Giving Tree
Help the 5th grade Girl Scouts organize opportunities for parishioners to give gifts to people with limited resources at Christmas time. You can help with decorating the giving tree, sorting, and delivering of gifts.
Holy Hammers
This outreach is an Ecumenical effort of 14 churches in the north suburban area. Holy Hammers has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to construct one house per year for the last 12 years. The commitment of Saint Rose Parish is to provide funding and volunteer labor to build the homes. If you are interested in this effort, contact Don Sobania at 651-645-1322.
